Monsoon session to begin on August 21, says Pathania
Shimla, Aug. 2 -- Himachal Pradesh legislative assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania announced that the monsoon session of the 14th legislative assembly will commence on August 21.
Pathania stated that the session will continue until September 3, with a total of 10 sittings scheduled. He noted that the notification regarding this has been issued by the assembly secretariat on Saturday, following the governor's approval.
Pathania mentioned that a sitting will be held on Saturday, August 22, whereas no sittings will take place on August 28, 29, and 30. He explained that sittings would not be held on August 28 due to Raksha Bandhan and on August 29 because it falls on a Saturday. Pathania said August 27, has been designated as the day for Private Members' Business. He added that with the issuance of the session notification, honorable members may submit notices pertaining to their respective constituencies to the assembly secretariat via both offline and online modes.
Hinting at stormy upcoming monsoon session of the Himachal Pradesh assembly, leader of opposition Jai Ram Thakur said the BJP would raise issues, including alleged corruption, deteriorating law and order, increasing drug abuse and various development-related concerns.
