Light showers likely across Himachal this week: IMD
Dharamshala, Sept. 15 -- Light to moderate rain is likely at a few places across Himachal Pradesh till September 17, while isolated light showers are expected from September 18 to 20, the Shimla office of the India Meteorological Department said on Monday. No major weather activity is expected during this period.
Light showers were recorded at a few places, including Dharamshala and Palampur, on Monday. Meanwhile, 55 roads remained blocked across the hill state, according to authorities. Mandi accounted for the highest number of affected roads at 24, followed by Kullu (12), Kangra (10), Shimla and Una (three each), and Sirmaur (two). As many as 19 water-supply schemes were also disrupted.
During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rain was recorded at several places across the state.
Nahan received the highest rainfall at 5 cm, followed by Pandoh and Kasauli (3 cm each), Nichar, Pachhad, Dharamshala, Sarahan and Solan (2 cm each), and Kothi, Kufri, Una, Dharampur and Guler (1 cm each).
Officials of the India Meteorological Department said maximum temperatures are likely to gradually fall by 2-3degC across many parts of the state over the next two to three days.
Minimum temperatures are also expected to decline by 2-3degC during the same period....
