Dharamshala, June 26 -- Two trekkers who had lost their waywhile returning from Ghepan Lake in Lahaul-Spiti were rescued safely, police said on Thursday. Police said that an emergency call was received on the 112 on the evening of June 23 reporting that two trekkers had lost their way while returning from the lake after darkness fell and difficult terrain made navigation challenging. "Acting swiftly, the Lahaul-Spiti police coordinated with the district disaster management authority (DDMA), fire services, home guards and local guides to launch an immediate night-time search and rescue operation.," police said. "After an intensive search, the rescue teams located both trekkers safely near a stream about 11 kilometres from Sissu and successfully brought them to safety," the police further informed.
