Jamwal: Major irregularities'in pollution control board must be probed
Shimla, July 7 -- BJP chief spokesperson Rakesh Jamwal has demanded a high-level, independent inquiry into the alleged irregularities in the functioning of Himachal State Pollution Control Board.
He said that the manner in which administrative decisions, appointments and statutory clearances are being handled has raised several serious questions that the state government must answer. Jamwal alleged that the present administrative arrangement within the board appears to compromise the independence of the appellate mechanism. He pointed that the member secretary, whose decisions are subject to appeal, has been placed in a position that raises concerns about the fairness and transparency.
