Srinagar, May 28 -- Lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday directed the J&K Police and UT administration to further intensify the crackdown on the narco-terror ecosystem operating within the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The LG was chairing a high-level meeting with senior officials at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar. He reviewed the progress of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan and emphasized the need for a stronger anti-drug mechanism. He directed the DGP to further strengthen the Anti-Narcotics Task Force by deploying additional manpower. Reviewing rehabilitation measures for drug abuse victims, he directed scaling up the number of police and health department-run de-addiction and rehabilitation centres across the UT, ensuring regular monitoring by health officials for proper counseling and treatment. He directed officials to identify and monitor vulnerable locations like abandoned buildings and river bunds to prevent their misuse for narcotics-related activities.
