Shimla, June 19 -- Five days after Manisha Mittal, administrator of Saraswati Paradise International School, Sanjauli, was shot dead on June 13, the state government took over the school's management on Thursday. Exercising powers vested under the Himachal Pradesh Societies Registration Act, 2006, deputy commissioner Anupam Kashyap appointed additional district magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana as the school administrator for six months to ensure its smooth functioning and safeguard students' academic interests. Rana will oversee the day-to-day affairs of both the school and the Himachal Public School Educational Society, Sanjauli, which operates it. She will also ensure the formation of a new governing body in accordance with the society's bylaws and applicable laws. The school will continue to operate without disruption, and teaching activities will not be affected, according to the orders of deputy commissioner.
