High Court seeks reports on 'unscientific waste disposal' in Dharamshala
Shimla, June 17 -- Himachal HC has sought a report on unscientific disposal of waste on the highway in Dharamshala. Taking suo-moto cognisance of the issue, the division bench comprising of chief justice GS Sandhawalia and justice Bipin C. Negi has directed the deputy commissioner, Kangra, along with the pollution control board officer and municipal corporation, Dharmashala, to give a report on July 2. HC also directed secretary, district legal services authority, Dharamshala to inspect the site and give his report. While addressing another issue-the pathetic condition of state highway near Kangra where tunnels are being constructed-the HC observed, "Apparently after the tunnels are made operational, the said stretch would become redundant, therefore, the state is not paying heed to the said stretch."
