Dharamshala, Aug. 5 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla, has predicted heavy rainfall to continue in parts of Himachal till August 10. The weather office has sounded yellow alerts of heavy rainfall in several districts during this period. For August 5, a yellow alert of heavy rainfall has been sounded in Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts, followed by a similar alert on August 6 in Una, Bilaspur, Kangra, Mandi and Sirmaur districts and on August 7 in Kangra and Mandi districts. On Tuesday, rainfall lashed several parts of the state, including Shimla, Sundernagar, Nahan, Solan and Mandi. During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain at many places and heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places was observed in the state. The highest rainfall of 14 cm was recorded in Renuka, followed by Naina Davi (14 cm), Nahan (12 cm), Jatton Barrage (7 cm), Malraun (6 cm), Una (6 cm), Nagrota Surian (4 cm), Nangal Dam (4 cm), Kasauli (4 cm), Bharwain (3 cm), Rajgarh (3 cm), Paonta (2 cm), Sangraha (2 cm), Nalagarh (2 cm), Guler (2 cm) and Palampur (1 cm). However, no significant change is expected in minimum temperatures in many parts of the state during the next 4-5 days. According to authorities, as many as 153 roads remained blocked in the state on Tuesday, which included 51 roads in Mandi district, followed by 39 in Sirmaur, 36 in Kullu and 15 in Shimla district.
