JAMMU, May 21 -- In view of the nationwide call for adoption of measures relating to "economic self-defence" amid concerns arising from rising crude oil prices and energy security, the J&K high court has shifted to virtual hearings. In this context the registrar general, MK Sharma issued a circular regarding adoption of virtual /hybrid mode, suspension of leave travel concession (LTC), and other measures for conservation of fuel and efficient judicial functioning. With effect from Thursday, the HC shall encourage virtual hearings and virtual appearance by learned counsel, subject to observance of the decorum and protocol prescribed for virtual proceedings," read the circular. During the vacation period commencing from June 8 , the nominated vacation benches shall deal with the matters coming before them through virtual mode.
