Goods train derails atKathua, rail traffic hit
JAMMU, Sept. 10 -- Rail traffic on the Jammu-Kathua link was disrupted for several hours on Wednesday after a wagon of a goods train derailed at Chann Arorian railway station in Kathua district. The derailment occurred around 9 am. The vital route connects Jammu and Kashmir with other parts of the country.
Railway authorities and officials reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated an assessment of the situation. The wagon was subsequently removed to resume the rail traffic around noon, the officials said.
"A rake of a goods train derailed at an unloading yard at Chann Arorian in Kathua district on Wednesday morning", said officials.
"A goods train was moving out of an unloading yard in Chann Aroria station when one of its rakes derailed around 9 am. After an effort of over two hours, the rake was restored on the track," said a railways official. Three to four trains were delayed because of the derailment, but the traffic was restored by 11 am, he added....
