Srinagar, Sept. 10 -- Security forces in Kupwara district busted a terror module operated by a former terrorist functioning as a hybrid operative for the banned outfit Hizbul Mujahideen. Acting on intel inputs regarding subversive activities, police alongside the 21 Rashtriya Rifles and 92 Battalion of the CRPF executed a joint operation in Handwara town. They apprehended Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Kruhmura Handwara previously arrested in two separate cases, and recovered a Chinese-made pistol, two magazines, and 16 live rounds from him. Bhat operated as a hybrid terrorist-an unlisted, radicalised individual who carries out targeted violent assignments before blending back into civilian life.
