Development pace in Himachal has come to a halt: Jai Ram
Shimla, Aug. 20 -- Former chief minister and leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur in a scathing attack on the state government alleged that the government is "mired in anarchy and the politics of vendetta". He also claimed that BJP's resounding comeback in 2027 is certain.
Jai Ram stated this during a protest and a felicitation ceremony for newly elected panchayati raj representatives in Balichowki, located in his home constituency of Seraj.
Highlighting issues such as "rising anarchy, rampant corruption, a crumbling administrative system", Jai Ram alleged that chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is "preoccupied solely with saving his position".
He alleged that the pace of development in Himachal has come to a complete halt due to the government's vindictive attitude and flawed policies, youth are wandering from pillar to post for employment, and welfare schemes launched by the previous BJP government in the public interest have been discontinued due to an authoritarian mindset.
Launching a direct attack on the chief minister, Jai Ram said, "This is the first government that dislikes criticism and registers FIRs against anyone who raises a question. Cases have been filed against our party president, MLAs, and a dozen other leaders. They are being harassed by being summoned to police stations for hours. The CM is acting purely out of a spirit of vendetta, which is not a healthy precedent".
He claimed that the BJP would form the government with a massive majority in 2027, noting that the groundwork for ousting this "anti-people government" has already been laid following the panchayat elections....
