Demand for coal sees a surge in HP
Shimla, April 5 -- With eateries resorting to traditional cooking methods amid the LPG crisis, there has been a sharp surge in coal demand.
Vikram Bhagra, a local coal supplier, said, "Demand has increased significantly. Even those using electric systems are ordering coal as a backup. We have increased prices slightly around Rs.3 per kg-because procurement costs have gone up."
Meanwhile, the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) reassured that in Himachal the supply of petroleum products and LPG remains stable and adequate.
The stock position of Motor Spirit (MS) and High-Speed Diesel (HSD) is normal across the state. "OMC depots are maintaining healthy inventory levels, while retail outlets have sufficient stock for uninterrupted sales.
