Shimla, April 8 -- A local court in Una district on Tuesday issued summons to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia in connection with a defamation case and directed him to appear before it on May 12. This defamation case was filed by Anoop Kesari, a lawyer from Una and former state president of the Aam Aadmi Party. The entire matter stems from political developments that took place in 2022 when Anoop Kesari, along with his supporters quit the Aam Aadmi Party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The petitioner, Kesari, alleged that following his quit from AAP, out of frustration the then deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, held a press conference in Delhi on April 9, 2022, and levelled serious allegations against him. According to Kesari, during this press conference, Sisodia levelled serious allegations against his character. However, no evidence or proof was presented to substantiate these allegations.
