Cong seeks FIR over jai Ram's 'Pak model' remark
Shimla, April 10 -- The Congress has sought registration of an FIR against former chief minister and leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur while accusing him of comparing Himachal with Pakistan. State Congress (organisation) general secretary Vinod Zinta termed Jai Ram's statement as "anti-state and anti-national".Thakur on April 8, alleged that the government was implementing a "Pakistan model" in Himachal. "Much like Pakistan, where severe economic crises led to delays in the timely payment of salaries to employees and officials, an identical situation had now emerged in Himachal Pradesh. Here, the government has been compelled to withhold the salaries not only of officials and employees, but also of elected public representatives," he had said.
BJP's Himachal president Rajeev Bindal said the state government was "undermining democracy and orchestrating an attempt to hijack" panchayati raj and urban local body elections. htc...
