Srinagar, Aug. 9 -- The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday raided multiple places in four districts of Kashmir to investigate a 2023 case filed under sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and Indian Penal Code (IPC) against promoting enmity between groups and inciting/taking part in terrorist acts. According to officials, five locations across four districts of the Kashmir Valley were raided, including Anantnag and Shopian in South Kashmir, and Bandipora and Baramulla in North Kashmir. Many residential buildings were also searched during the raids. "The searches were carried out under warrants issued by the competent court as part of the ongoing investigation," a spokesperson of CIK said. The sleuths recovered electronic devices, digital storage media and other 'incriminating' material. "These were seized in the presence of independent witnesses, in accordance with due legal procedure.The seized material will be sent for detailed forensic examination," the spokesperson said. The searches were conducted in connection with FIR No. 03/2023 registered at CIK police station, Srinagar, under Sections 505 and 153-A IPC, and Sections 13 and 18 of the UAPA....
