Shimla, July 8 -- With the political activity gaining pace in Himachal ahead of the 2026 assembly polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said it will prepare a comprehensive chargesheet on the Congress government's unfulfilled promises to women, youth, farmers and orchardists. The announcement was made during the BJP's Core Group meeting held at the party's state headquarters, Deep Kamal, Chakkar, in Shimla. "The BJP Core Group has resolved to launch a statewide mass movement against the Congress government's 'anti-people' policies, unfulfilled guarantees and administrative failures. As part of this, the party will prepare a comprehensive chargesheet highlighting the government's performance and present it before the people of the state," said BJP's state president Rajeev Bindal. "The Congress government has failed to fulfil the promises it made to women, youth, employees, farmers and orchardists before the elections," said Bindal, adding that the BJP will take these issues to every village and town to expose the "government's failures." Talking about the recently held urban local bodies and panchayat elections, Bindal said, "The election results have sent a clear message that the people are disappointed with the Congress government and have rejected what he described as its anti-people and anti-Himachal policies."
