Shimla, July 18 -- Stepping up its criticism for Congress-led government in Himachal, Bharatiya Janata Party state general secretary Sikander Kumar on Friday said government's policies are ruining state's industrial growth and education system. "Development in Himachal Pradesh has been replaced by publicity and hollow announcements," said Kumar while speaking during the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign organised at Summer Hill, Shimla. "On one hand, the state government is claiming that industries in the Bulk Drug Park will receive electricity at Rs.3 per unit, while on the other hand, the overall industrial environment in the state continues to deteriorate," he alleged. Talking about state's education system, Kumar said, "If teachers themselves have to shoulder government's responsibilities, then what is the purpose of the government?" he asked. He said that the Congress government has limited itself to making announcements while failing to provide basic facilities to industries and essential resources to educational institutions.
