Srinagar, Sept. 24 -- : Police on Wednesday attached a residential property in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in a terror-related case. The property has been attached under Section 25 of the UAPA, in connection with an FIR registered at Sheeri police station. "The case stands registered under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38 & 39 of the UAPA. The attached property comprises a double-storeyed residential house situated at Namblan village, Sheeri in Baramulla, belonging to accused Aijaz Ahmad Ganie," a police spokesman said. He added that during the course of investigation, the property was, prima facie, found to have been used for providing shelter and logistical support to terrorists and facilitating terrorist activities, thereby attracting the relevant provisions of the UAPA. Police said that the attachment was carried out after obtaining requisite approval from the director general of police."The action forms part of Baramulla police's sustained efforts to disrupt and dismantle the logistical and support infrastructure of terror networks and to proceed, in accordance with law, against persons and properties found involved in facilitating terrorist activities," the spokesman said.
