Baramulla migrant land fraud case: EOW Kashmir books five
Srinagar, June 20 -- Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Crime branch Kashmir on Friday booked five persons for their alleged involvement in a migrant land fraud case in Baramulla district, said officials.
The investigation uncovered an alleged conspiracy involving fake agreements and fraudulent sale attempts of 14 kanals and 03 marlas of land at Goshbugh Pattan, said officials.
A spokesman said the EOW Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K conducted a house search at Banit Beerwah, district Budgam, in connection with an FIR registered at EOW Kashmir police station.
He said the case pertains to an alleged land fraud and cheating involving migrant land measuring 14 kanals and 3 marlas situated at Goshbugh Pattan in Baramulla district, which was sought to be sold through fraudulent means, fake agreements, and criminal conspiracy.
"During investigation, five accused were found involved in duping the complainant of crore of rupees on the pretext of sale of the land without the consent of the actual owner. The search was conducted as part of further investigation into the case. Further investigation into the matter is underway."
The spokesperson advised people to remain vigilant against economic fraudsters and report any such incidents directly to SSP EOW Kashmir, Crime Branch J&K. htc...
