Srinagar, May 9 -- Jammu and Kashmir chief minister (CM) Omar Abdullah on Friday said the delay in restoration of statehood is the biggest impediment to the expansion of the J&K Cabinet. Omar was responding to a recent statement by senior BJP leader Sunil Sharma that the National Conference (NC) could also see a split and "there could be an Eknath Shinde from NC too" "Eknath Shinde left Shiv Sena only because the BJP helped him," the CM told reporters in Srinagar, adding: "The LoP couldn't hide his desire to grab the CM's chair in the Union territory. I want to make it clear to the LoP: there is no Eknath Shinde in the NC. All NC MLAs are firmly standing with the party." Omar said Cabinet expansion has stalled because statehood hasn't been restored to J&K. "It's not stopped out of fear. The LoP's statements indicate that till the BJP doesn't get power, they won't allow us to work here and they won't restore statehood."...
