Jammu, July 29 -- Amid rains, fresh batch of over 3,000 Amarnath Yatris left the Baltal base camp on Tuesday morning, said officials More than 4.27 lakh pilgrims have offered prayers at the cave shrine. The 21st batch of 3,029 pilgrims left Bhagwati Nagar base-camp here for Baltal in 151 vehicles around 2.45 am, he informed. The devotees included 2,310 men, 590 women, 14 children, 45 sadhus, 40 sadhvis and 30 foreign pilgrims. With departure of Tuesday's batch, the total number of pilgrims who have left the Jammu base camp for the annual pilgrimage has risen to 1,30,355, officials said. Yatra remains suspended via Pahalgam route. The yatra resumed on July 25, after remaining suspended for six days from July 19 to July 24 due to the inclement weather. Meanwhile, 250 km long stretch of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been restored at Dewal in Udhampur district and but the traffic was being plied via single carriageway at Gangroo in Ramban district. "The NH is through and traffic is being plied normally. The affected stretch at Dewal in Samroli is restored. However, at Gangroo, traffic is being managed via single carriageway as restoration work of the affected stretch is still on," said the officer. On Tuesday morning a massive landslide had hit the Jammu-Srinagar NH near Dewal Bridge in Udhampur blocking the carriageway. However, traffic was partially restored, while road clearan ce work was still underway. The Met department has forecast one to two spells of rain at many places with heavy rain at few places of Jammu division in early hours on Wednesday followed by few spells of rain and thundershower at most places with torrential rain and brief but heavy intense showers in few districts of Jammu division on Thursday and Fridays....
