Srinagar, Aug. 27 -- The two inmates, who had escaped from Srinagar Central Jail on August 23, have been traced after three days of manhunt, police officials said on Wednesday. The two persons- Mukhtar Ahmad Gujjar from Anantnag and Farman Khan from Rajasthan- accused in two separate POCSO cases, had escaped from Srinagar's Central Jail after scaling its wall. The officials said that the two were traced to Churu district of Rajasthan and have been apprehended with the help of Rajasthan police. "Both have been apprehended after hectic efforts and tracking of their movement and police are underway to Rajasthan to take their custody," they said. Mukhtar Ahmad Gujjar, a resident of Sanglan Chittergul, Anantnag, is accused in an FIR registered at Police Station Soura under Sections 137(2) and 65(1) of the BNS and Sections 3/4 of the POCSO Act. Farman Khan, a resident of Sadanpora Rajasthan, is involved in a case registered at Police Station Lar under Sections 137(2) and 87 of the BNS and Sections 3/4 of the POCSO Act. After their escape on August 23, the police had launched a massive manhunt to trace and apprehend the escaped inmates and had issued a wanted notice for the two while announcing a reward for information leading to their arrest. htc...
