Srinagar, Aug. 11 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday arrested two men for the alleged rape of a 13-year-old girl in north Kashmir's Bandipora district. Officials said that the parents of the girl registered a complaint on Sunday following which police arrested the accused individuals during overnight raids. The girl was kidnapped during a mela on Sunday in the Malangam area of the district. "The two persons had allegedly kidnapped the minor girl on a bike and then raped her some 2 km away," said SP Bandipora, Aijaz Ahmad Zargar. Police didn't reveal the identity of the two accused persons. The official confirmed that an FIR has been registered and accused have been charged under POCSO Act. The two accused were apprehended during overnight raids conducted at different locations. The officer said that they were able to trace them based on technical and human intelligence. " We had a mobile number of one of the accused and it was not working. That confirmed the identity of one person. Based on that lead we used technical and human intelligence to track him," he said. Police said efforts are continuing to establish all facts and circumstances surrounding the alleged incident. Last month, two men were arrested for allegedly raping a 21-year-old woman in Jammu and Kashmir's northern Baramulla district. The woman had gone on an outing with a male friend on July 3 to Jalshree Drangbal when the incident happened. The two accused stalked them, assaulted and chased away the male friend and sexually assaulted the woman....
