Jaipur, Aug. 15 -- Rajasthan Police has adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards organised crime, hardcore criminals, drug trafficking and cyber fraud, the director general of police (DGP) said on Friday as part of his message ahead of the country's 80th Independence Day message. DGP Rajeev Kumar Sharma paid tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and called upon citizens to work towards strengthening the unity, integrity and democratic values of the country. The DGP said the police was working with full commitment in line with the state government's zero-tolerance policy towards crime. Special drives against organised crime, hardcore offenders and drug traffickers were underway with a focus on dismantling criminal networks rather than acting against individual offenders. As part of these operations, police are stepping up action to seize properties linked to illegal activities. The DGP said the police response to organised crime has increasingly focused on the financial and logistical networks that support criminal activities. A stronger anti-drug campaign is also underway to prevent the spread of narcotics.
