Udaipur civic body logs 67.26% polling amid clashes
Udaipur, Sept. 12 -- Residents of 80 wards of the Udaipur Municipal Corporation took to vote and recorded a turnout of 67.26% till 7.30pm.
Voting was marred sporadically by clashes between BJP and Congress camps and allegations of bogus voting.
In Ward 76, three voters who arrived to cast their votes at the school in Shobhagpura were reportedly told that their votes had already been cast. A row erupted at a polling booth in Ward 23 after a BJP leader objected to Congress supporters' presence in the designated polling area. Police removed them.
At Agrasen Nagar in Ward 29, allegations of bogus votes led to a standoff....
