Two kill truck driver over road incident
Barmer/Balotra, March 20 -- Police are on the lookout for two men for killing a truck driver with a stone on Thursday, allegedly over a minor road incident, officers said.
According to police, the victim, Vishnaram (around 40), a resident of Isrol village, was returning to Gujarat after unloading his truck in Barmer. On the way, he diverted to Gudmalani Road to visit his in-laws in Loharwa village. In the meantime, near a curve close to the highway, his truck reportedly brushed against a motorcycle carrying the two accused men. Though no major damage was reported, the incident led to a heated argument.
Deep Singh, station house officer, said, "Locals intervened and diffused the situation, allowing the truck driver to move ahead. However, the two bike-borne men allegedly chased the truck along the isolated stretch of road. After pursuing the vehicle for about six kilometers, they reportedly overtook it and hurled a large stone from the front. The stone smashed through the windshield and struck Vishnaram on the temple, killing him on the spot. The co-driver immediately stepped out and sought help from passersby while informing the police."...
