Udaipur, Oct. 31 -- Two doctors employed at a private hospital in Salumber were booked for allegedly repeatedly raping a 26-year-old woman from a tribal community, who was employed as a cook in the hospital, police said on Thursday, adding that they were also investigating allegations of an attempt by the accused to coerce her into converting her religion. The accused were identified as Dr Nitin Shah and Dr Ameer Metin, they added. According to Salumber deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Heramb Joshi, "The woman joined the hospital in November last year. Soon after her joining, Dr Ameer Metin, allegedly began making repeated marriage proposals to her, which she declined. Around a month ago, she was allegedly raped in the hospital by Nitin Shah, who also recoreded a video." Shah also blackmailed the victim by threatening to upload her intimate photographs online, said the DSP "Meanwhile, an aide of Dr Nitin Shah, started forcing her to convert to Islam and marry Dr Metin," said the DSP. A case was lodged against the two accused under sections 69 (rape) and 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS as well as relevant sections of the SC/ST (Protection Against Atrocities) Act, he added. "The victim's medical examination has been conducted. We are probing the allegations related to the attempt to religious conversion. We might update the sections in the FIR accordingly. Necessary action will be taken after primary investigation," said Joshi, adding that the investigation into the case was underway....
