Turkish singer's Udaipur show cancelled amid NSUI protest
Jaipur, Feb. 9 -- A performance by Turkish pop singer Selin Sumbultepe at the Udaipur World Music Festival was cancelled just 30 minutes before its scheduled start on Saturday after National Students' Union of India (NSUI) activists protested over Turkey's alleged support for Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.
Officials from Seher India, the event's organisers, confirmed the cancellation but declined to comment further.
"The show was cancelled a few minutes before the scheduled time," they said.
NSUI district president Mohit Nayak told reporters, "During Operation Sindoor, Turkey supported Pakistan and supplied weapons and other resources. Giving a platform to a performer from that country is wrong. The BJP is playing a double standard. Udaipur is known as the sacred land of Maharana Pratap, who fought for their state. We will never accept such activities here."...
