Jaipur, May 29 -- The Rajasthan government late Wednesday night agreed to form a joint committee to review the proposed RIICO industrial area near Bhairana Dham after protests led by RLP chief Hanuman Beniwal escalated into a Jaipur march involving saints and thousands of supporters, forcing fresh negotiations following a police blockade near Moukhampura turn. After day-long protests and multiple rounds of talks between the administration and agitators failed to produce a breakthrough, Hanuman Beniwal announced a Jaipur march along with saints and supporters around midnight. As the convoy moved towards Jaipur, tensions escalated and protesters broke through the first police barricade in the Bichoon area within half an hour. Police later stopped the convoy near Moukhampura turn with heavy barricading and deployment of security personnel. Fresh negotiations were then held between the administration and the struggle committee, eventually resulting in an agreement to form a committee to resolve the dispute. Under the agreement, the proposed RIICO industrial area in Bhairana will be redesigned and reviewed by a committee comprising administrative officials, RIICO representatives and members of the agitation committee.
