Jaipur, May 8 -- The Rajasthan government has decided to start Evening OPD services in high-patient-load departments in Jaipur's Sawai Man Singh Hospital, with the Medicine Department set to become the first to roll out the facility, officials said. The decision was taken during an inspection of hospital facilities by medical education department principal secretary Gayatri Rathore on Thursday. She directed hospital authorities to immediately implement crowd-management measures and ensure smoother treatment access for patients visiting one of India's largest government hospitals. Rathore said: "Under the first phase, the Medicine Department will operate Evening OPD services from 5 pm to 7 pm. Senior doctors, along with adequate medical and support staff, will remain available during these hours." The move is aimed at reducing long queues and cutting waiting time for patients who often spend several hours at the hospital due to heavy footfall. Rathore said that while a high patient load is natural because of reputation and scale, patients should not face inconvenience in getting treatment. She instructed administration to work simultaneously on immediate arrangements and a long-term plan to streamline patient flow.htc...
