Lucknow, March 4 -- Six people from Rajasthan died and seven others, including four children, were injured after a private double-decker bus slammed into their moving van on the Yamuna Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district on Tuesday morning, said police. Four of the deceased were identified as Dinesh Singh (50), his wife Sunita (48), Vijay Baghel (27) and his wife Pinki Baghel (26), all from Dholpur district's Gangoli village, said Hathras additional superintendent of police RP Kushwaha said adding that they were returning home from Delhi to celebrate Holi The bus was headed from Delhi to Gorakhpur, he added. The incident occurred at around 4am near Garhi Hariya village after the bus, which was allegedly speeding, lost control after it tried to overtake the van, said district superintendent of police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha. He added that the impact hurled the van nearly 10 feet off the road, crushing its rear portion completely. Those injured were taken to Khandauli Community Health Centre; three critically injured people were referred to SN Medical College in Agra for better treatment.
