SI recruitment exam '21 to be held afresh on govt suggestion
Jaipur, May 9 -- The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has cancelled the Sub-Inspector/Platoon Commander Recruitment Examination-2021 and decided to conduct the exam afresh, following the recommendation of the state government, officials said on Friday.
RPSC chairman Utkal Ranjan Sahu said during a press conference that the Commission received a letter from the state government on May 6 directing the re-conduct of the examination. In compliance with the Supreme Court's directions, the Commission is committed to conducting a fair and transparent exam. Candidates will be given around four months for preparation, he said.
"Only 383,097 candidates who had appeared in both written papers of the earlier examination will be allowed to take the re-exam. No fresh applicants will be permitted. The examination for 859 posts is likely to be held in September 2026. Decisions regarding examination centres and whether the exam will be conducted in one or two days will be taken soon," Sahu said.
Candidates will be allowed to make necessary corrections and updates in their previously submitted application forms from May 16 to May 30, 2026, he said.
Before making any changes, candidates must complete the KYC process in their One Time Registration (OTR). Those who have changed their SSO ID can use the "Fetch Application Form" option to transfer old data to the new profile. The live photo, signature, and thumb impression saved in OTR will be automatically fetched. Completing KYC in OTR is mandatory if not done earlier.
Even in case of no correction, candidates must open the application in edit mode, submit a declaration confirming no modification is needed, and provide consent to use the live photo, signature, and thumb impression stored in OTR, he said.
RPSC Secretary Ramnivas Mehta stated that eligibility criteria will be determined based on the status at the time of the 2021 application. No changes in eligibility will be accepted.
