School timings changed in two districts amid heatwave
Bikaner, April 26 -- With heatwave conditions intensifying across parts of Rajasthan, the district administrations in Bikaner and Hanumangarh have revised school timings for students up to Class 8 to reduce their exposure to extreme daytime temperatures.
In Bikaner, district collector Nishant Jain issued an order, directing that classes from nursery to Class 8 be held from 7.00 am to 11.30 am. The revised schedule will come into effect from April 27 and remain in force till the end of the academic session.
In neighbouring Hanumangarh, collector Dr Khushal Yadav has also ordered a change in school timings for the same classes. Students from nursery to Class 8 will attend school from 7.30 am to 12.00 noon. This will also be implemented from April 27 and continue till the session concludes.
Officials said the decision was taken after consultations with the education department, keeping in view the prevailing heatwave and its potential impact on young children.
Both collectors have directed the Chief District Education Officers to ensure strict compliance with the orders across all government and private schools. They have also warned that any violation will invite disciplinary action as per rules....
