Ajmer, Aug. 30 -- The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) is working towards introducing a facial authentication mechanism at its recruitment examination centres after conducting a detailed study of the system currently being used at examination centres of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The move is expected to significantly curb cheating and the use of dummy candidates in RPSC recruitment examinations. Recently, a special study team of RPSC officials examined the facial authentication mechanism implemented at UPSC examination centres and studied its functioning in detail. The team has submitted a comprehensive report to RPSC acting chairman Lieutenant Colonel Kesari Singh. RPSC acting chairman Lt Col Kesari Singh said the commission's primary objective is to protect the future of hardworking candidates and maintain the integrity and dignity of its examinations. He said the commission is regularly studying the best practices and successful systems adopted by UPSC and other recruitment bodies across the country. He said the RPSC is working to further strengthen its examination system. The commission's main objective is to completely eliminate the possibility of dummy candidates appearing at examination centres and to prevent cheating of any kind. For this purpose, a robust and highly secure examination infrastructure equipped with modern technology is being developed. As part of these efforts, a high-level meeting was recently held under the chairmanship of the RPSC chairman with the commission's IT team and the Deputy General Manager of Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL). During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the effective use of biometric face recognition and authentication systems, handheld metal detectors (HHMDs), live surveillance of examination centres and CCTV cameras equipped with AI-based face recognition technology to strengthen security. Further action will be taken after receiving a detailed report from the agency within the next week. To make the security arrangements more comprehensive, the RPSC chairman is also expected to hold discussions with senior officials of the Recruitment Wing of Rajasthan Police in the coming days.
