Jaipur, June 12 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday presented the state's roadmap for "Viksit Rajasthan-2047" at the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, highlighting rural development, women's empowerment, youth participation and investment-led growth as key pillars of the government's development strategy. Sharma said the state is fully aligned with the Prime Minister's agenda of self-reliance, good governance, innovation and inclusive growth, and is committed to playing a leading role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047. The chief minister said the state government has placed the poor, youth, farmers and women at the centre of its policies and programmes. "With nearly 63% of Rajasthan's population comprising youth, the government is working to transform this demographic strength into a key driver of economic growth." Sharma said Rajasthan has introduced more than 35 new policies to create an investor-friendly ecosystem and accelerate industrial development. The state has signed investment-related MoUs worth Rs.35 lakh crore, of which projects worth over Rs.9 lakh crore have already entered ground-breaking stage. He also highlighted the development of a modern 9 MMTPA refinery in the state, describing it as a landmark project for Rajasthan's industrial future. The government has set a target of transforming Rajasthan into a $350-billion economy by 2029. According to Sharma, the state's GSDP growth rate stands at 10.24%, indicating positive momentum toward this goal. The CM said the Centre's "Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat)" initiative has emerged as an effective platform for youth participation in nation-building. To strengthen employment and skill development, the state has introduced the Rajasthan Skill Policy-2025, Rajasthan Youth Policy-2025 and Rajasthan Employment Policy-2026.
