Jaipur, July 22 -- The Rajasthan Co-operative Dairy Federation (RCDF) plans to set up an automated polyfilm manufacturing plant in Jaipur worth at least Rs.150 crore to produce packaging material for Saras dairy products. Officials said the plant will ensure a steady supply of high-quality packaging material at lower costs. The project aims to reduce the state's district dairy unions' dependance on external suppliers. The facility is proposed to have production capacity of 20 metric tonnes per day (MTPD). The dairy unions' current daily polyfilm requirement is 12-14 metric tonnes. RCDF managing director Shruti Bhardwaj said the project will be funded through the Dairy Infrastructure Development Fund allocated to the federation in the state budget. Officials said a Memorandum of Understanding between Hindustan Refinery Limited (HRL) and RCDF for technical and material support was in the works.
