rcdf files plaint into diversion of milk powder to factory units
JAIPUR, July 31 -- The Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) has filed a complaint regarding the alleged diversion of milk powder supplied to government schools in Jaipur district for the Mid-Day Meal programme under the Pannadhay Bal Gopal Yojana to factories manufacturing mawa (milk solids), an official statement said on Thursday.
The FIR was registered over the matter. Police said an investigation was underway.
Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot meanwhile accused the state government of failing to safeguard a welfare scheme launched during the previous Congress regime.
Around 3,000 kg of government-supplied milk powder was intercepted by district police recently while being transported to mawa factories. Three people were detained and a probe launched into the matter. Police said the seized stock is believed to have come from Sriganganagar, Bhilwara, and Jaipur.
Gehlot demanded stringent action against those responsible and urged the government to ensure regular milk supply to every school....
