Jaipur, Sept. 27 -- The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) elections have turned into a three-way contest, with the sons of five influential leaders associated with the BJP and the state government filing nominations for key posts ahead of the September 29 polls. The nomination process concluded on Friday, though the final panels are expected to emerge only after scrutiny and withdrawal, as several candidates have filed nominations for more than one post. One group is associated with Dhananjay Singh Khinvsar, son of health minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar. Dhananjay and former RCA ad hoc committee convener Deendayal Kumawat have filed nominations for president. Mohit Yadav, son of BJP MLA Jaswant Yadav, and Pawan Dilawar, son of education minister Madan Dilawar, have filed nominations for vice-president. Mohit Yadav and Ashish Tiwari, son of BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ghanshyam Tiwari, have also filed nominations for secretary. Vinod Saharan has filed for joint secretary, Ashish Tiwari for treasurer and Arisht Singhvi for an executive committee position. The second group is led by Parakram Singh Rathore, son of senior BJP leader and former leader of opposition Rajendra Rathore. Parakram has filed for president. Manoj Sharma has filed nominations for secretary and vice-president, Sushil Jain for treasurer and joint secretary, Ratan Singh for vice-president and joint secretary, and Dharamveer Singh Shekhawat for an executive committee position. The third group is led by Brij Kishore Upadhyay, who has filed for president. Ratan Singh has submitted papers for vice-president, Pinkesh Porwal for secretary, Rajesh Saraswat for joint secretary, Vishnu Agarwal for treasurer and Arisht Singhvi for an executive committee position. The presence of State Finance Commission chairman and senior BJP leader Arun Chaturvedi during the third group's nomination filing fuelled speculation that it had the backing of the state government. Chaturvedi, however, denied media reports that he had filed a nomination himself. Dhananjay said his group had not received any directions from the government. "We have not received any information from the government, so we have filed our nominations. I have no information about the other panel," he said. "We are with the government and will follow whatever directions it gives." Parakram said multiple nominations had been filed to keep alternatives open during scrutiny. Scrutiny will be held on September 27, with the list of eligible candidates released the same day.
