Jaipur, July 20 -- Doctors at the General Surgery Department of Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital detected a rare right-sided diaphragmatic hernia in a woman who visited the hospital with a complaint of abdominal pain, officials said, adding that the hernia was treated using advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery. The patient, a resident of Sikar district, underwent detailed evaluation when the doctors found a large 6x5 cm defect in the patient's diaphragm, through which her right kidney, transverse colon (part of the large intestine) and a portion of the liver had shifted into the chest cavity.
