Ranthambore reserve tourism season opens with tiger sighting
Jaipur, Oct. 2 -- The new tourism season at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve began on Thursday with visitors from across India and abroad turning up to the reserve. The opening day was marked by a tiger sighting, adding to excitement among tourists.
Forest department officials, the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve administration and the district administration welcomed tourists at the entry gates. Field director, Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, district collector, deputy conservators of forests and tourism department officials were present on the occasion.
Tourists got an opportunity to spot a tiger during the first day of the new season while on safari in the reserve. Officials urged visitors to remain sensitive towards the conservation of Ranthambore's rich biodiversity, forests and wildlife and follow all prescribed tourism rules and guidelines during their safaris.
The forest department and district administration have made arrangements aimed at ensuring safe, orderly and smooth tourism operations in the reserve. The reserve administration also appealed to tourists to practise responsible tourism and cooperate in protecting wildlife and the natural environment during their visit.
Meanwhile, Sariska Tiger Reserve reopened on Thursday, marking beginning of 2026-27 tourism season after a three-month monsoon closure. Tourists arriving for morning safari were welcomed at the entry gate in presence of field director Sangram Singh Katiyar and deputy conservator of forests Abhimanyu Saharan.
