Raj per capita income tripled in a decade: CM
Jaipur, June 14 -- Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said on Saturday that Rajasthan's per capita income has more than tripled over the past decade, rising from around Rs.69,000 in 2013-14 to over Rs.2 lakh today, while highlighting the impact of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 12 years in office. Sharma credited the Centre's welfare and development initiatives for the state's economic growth and improved living standards.
Addressing reporters on the completion of 12 years of the Modi government at the Centre, Sharma said Rajasthan has witnessed significant economic and social progress over the past decade, driven by central welfare schemes, infrastructure expansion and targeted support for farmers, women and weaker sections.
"Before 2014, Rajasthan's per capita income stood at approximately Rs.69,000. Today, it has increased to more than Rs.2 lakh, reflecting the state's rapid economic growth and improved prosperity," said Sharma.
He said more than 38.3 million Jan Dhan accounts have been opened in the state, bringing millions into the formal banking system. He said beneficiaries receiving social security benefits has increased from 5.7 million before 2014 to more than 8.9 million at present.
Under the PM Gram Sadak Yojana, Rajasthan's rural road network has expanded from around 53,000 km before 2014 to over 86,000 km today, he said.
Sharma said the state has benefited extensively from flagship central schemes. Around 24.5 million Soil Health Cards have been issued to farmers, while compensation exceeding Rs.35,000 crore has been provided under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, he said, adding that over 3.4 million houses have been constructed under PM Awas Yojana. Under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin, nearly 8.9 million toilets have been built in Rajasthan, he said....
