Jaipur, Aug. 14 -- Rajasthan has emerged as a front-runner among states in strengthening the capacity of senior government officials and promoting citizen-centric governance under Mission Karmayogi, said Capacity Building Commission, praising Chief Secretary V Srinivas for spearheading the initiative. According to an official release, the Commission appreciated the 'Karmayogi Kartavya' programme organised in Rajasthan and described the state as a frontrunner among states undertaking such initiatives for senior officers. The senior officers' edition of the 'Karmayogi Kartavya' programme was organised on August 10 at HCM RIPA with the support of the Capacity Building Commission on the initiative of the Chief Secretary. The programme was conducted in two batches and attended by 70 senior officers of the state government. The sessions focused on the role of purpose and values in administration, citizen-centric governance and ways to make public service delivery more effective. Senior officers discussed how administrative capacities need to evolve in response to changing governance requirements and mulled over developing a more responsive administration that is sensitive to citizens' expectations. The programme also emphasised strengthening the sense of duty, accountability and citizen-centric approach among officials in keeping with the objectives of Mission Karmayogi. The Capacity Building Commission particularly appreciated the Chief Secretary's active involvement in the programme.
