JODHPUR, April 22 -- More than 84,000 advocates across Rajasthan are set to go for polls on Wednesday to elect members of the Bar Council of Rajasthan, the statutory body regulating the legal profession in the state. Voting will run from 8am to 5pm at 258 polling stations statewide. Chief election officer and senior advocate Dr Sachin Acharya said a total of 84,293 advocates are registered voters, including 66,649 men and 17,644 women. He said 234 candidates are contesting - 176 men and 58 women. "Elaborate arrangements have been made to conduct the election smoothly," Dr Acharya said. He added that around 2,000 personnel have been deployed statewide to manage polling stations and other election work.
