Jaipur, Sept. 25 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth over Rs.1.22 lakh crore during a programme in Banswara district on Thursday, officials from the chief minister's office said. Of this, projects worth Rs.1,08,468 crore are earmarked for Rajasthan, covering key sectors such as energy, water resources, infrastructure, and healthcare. The most significant project will be the foundation stone of the Rs.42,000-crore Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project with a capacity of 2,800 MW. The proposed 2,800 MW nuclear facility is the most important as it is expected to play a crucial role in the state's journey toward energy self-sufficiency, officials said. Other major projects include a 590 MW renewable energy project in Bikaner (Rs.8,500 crore), power transmission lines with a capacity of 15.5 GW across Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sirohi, Nagaur and Bikaner (Rs.13,183 crore), and 15 drinking water projects in 11 districts (Rs.5,884 crore). The Prime Minister will launch works for two flyovers in Bharatpur - a bridge on the Banas River, and 119 Atal Pragati Path roads (Rs.878 crore). Additionally, solar projects of 1,400 MW and the 925 MW Nokh Solar Park in Phalodi worth Rs.10,710 crore will be inaugurated, along with decentralized solar plants under PM-KUSUM-C (Rs.3,132 crore). Key irrigation works worth Rs.2,365 crore, new roads in eight districts, power substations, sewerage projects, an IT development and e-governance centre, and a 250-bed hospital in Bharatpur are also part of the package. The Prime Minister will also dedicate a Rs.20,833-crore project of the Water Resources Department and distribute appointment letters to 15,000 youngsters in what the Bhajanlal Sharma government has termed a "masterstroke" for employment generation. In the railways sector, Modi will flag off three Vande Bharat trains: Bikaner-Delhi Cantt, Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt, and Udaipur-Chandigarh Express. CM Bhajanlal Sharma gave directions to officials to complete all the preparations for the event. He visited the venue site in Banswara today to take stock of the preparations. Ahead of the event, BJP state president Madan Rathore visited households in Banswara on Tuesday, distributing "yellow rice" as a traditional invitation for the Prime Minister's programme. Rathore said Banswara's nuclear project would become a landmark initiative for Rajasthan.
