Bharatpur, Aug. 10 -- Suhas panchayat on Sunday declared an ultimatum to launch a protest from August 16 over the dowry murder of a newly married woman in Bharatpur, police said. A woman, resident of village Suhas under Weir police station was married to Pushkar Gurjar,native of village Etamada on March 6,2025. The incident took place on last July 19 where she was found suspiciously dead. Her cousin ,Himanshu Gurjar registered a complaint against seven members of her in-laws for killing his sister to demand of dowry. In the complaint, victim's family member accused members of her in-laws for asking Rs.28 lakh cash, gold jewelleries during the marriage. Her husband,mother-in-law,father-in-law and other family members allegedly tortured her. She was assaulted by them, officials said. They were also demanding a a car and land. Neeraj Bharadwaj, Bhusawar Circle Officer, said that the complaint was registered against seven people under sections of BNS. The man has been arrested while the investigation is underway...
