Jaipur, Feb. 9 -- The owner of the three-storeyed Kota restaurant that collapsed on Saturday night, killing two people, was booked on Sunday for culpable homicide, police said. Initially, at least 13 people were trapped under the debris when the building located in Kota's Talawandi area collapsed around 9 pm on Saturday. "Two people had died on the spot, and eight were hospitalised in a critical condition. Three people had sustained minor injuries," said Sharma. The two deceased were identified as Anaranya Karmakar (18) and Laxman Gujarati (15). "Karmakar was a native of West Bengal who arrived in Kota last year to prepare for a competitive examination, while Gujarati was a native of Kota," the DSP said. According to the police, an under-construction building next to the collapsed one had probably caused frequent vibrations in this building, leading to damage.
