Jaipur, April 30 -- The North Western Railway has decided to develop the Khatipura railway station in Jaipur as a modern satellite station to Jaipur Junction, at an estimated cost of Rs.250 crore. According to an official aware of the matter, "Developing Khatipura as a satellite terminal will also improve the potential for opening new routes, especially towards the Delhi Corridor and other long-distance destinations." "In addition to improving passenger amenities, the Khatipura terminal could in the future become an important maintenance hub for trains on various long-distance routes. Work is underway to construct a coach care complex for all types of rakes, including Vande Bharat, LHB, and DEMU, all at one place," he added. The station currently has six high-level platforms and eight running lines. According to the officials, two separate lines have been constructed towards Dausa for spur/shunting, and two additional lines for engine changeovers, stabling, and watering. Four additional lines are being constructed for wheel lathe sheds, charging, etc. In addition, a three-story administrative building and yard master's office are being constructed. "All modern resources for maintenance of trains like automatic coach washing plant, computerized wheel profile management system, synchronized electrically operated winching jack, coach lifting unit, water recycling plant, high capacity cranes, motor driven winching machine are being installed in the Coach Care Complex," added the official....
