No power tariff increase in state in fy 2026-27
Jaipur, April 4 -- There will be no increase in power tariffs for the financial year 2026-27, the Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission said in an order.
The order was issued after hearings on the Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) and tariff petitions submitted by the three state discoms-Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited.
Along with maintaining existing tariff rates, the commission has approved several consumer-friendly measures aimed at rationalising electricity pricing. For consumers under the MIP (Medium Industrial Power) category, the minimum electricity charge has been reduced from Rs.6.30 per unit to Rs.6.00 per unit.
In a move to ease the burden on urban local bodies, street lighting has been exempted from daytime tariffs as well. Additionally, to promote electric mobility, the commission has approved the removal of fixed charges for EV charging stations, a step expected to encourage the expansion of charging infrastructure across the state.htc...
