NEET re-exam: Kota institutes offer free classes, hostels waive deposits
Kota, May 22 -- Coaching institutes in Kota have launched free classes for students appearing in the NEET UG-2026 re-examination, while hostel associations have announced concessions in accommodation charges after the National Testing Agency (NTA) fixed June 21 for the re-test following the cancellation of the earlier exam due to paper leak allegations.
With the revised examination date announced, students have begun arriving in Kota, the country's coaching hub for medical-entrance preparation. Authorities said elaborate security arrangements will be made at all examination centres for the NEET re-exam scheduled next month.
To support aspirants affected by the earlier cancellation, several coaching institutes in Kota have introduced free academic programmes, including revision sessions, score-booster classes and regular tests.
The Kota Hostel Association (KHA), Chambal Hostel Association and Coral Park Hostel Association have jointly decided not to charge a full month's rent or any security deposit from students coming for the examination. KHA president Naveen Mittal said students would pay rent only for the actual number of days they stay in hostels. "No security money will be charged. If students require any additional support, the association will extend full assistance," Mittal said.
Students preparing for the examination said the re-test has given them an opportunity to improve their performance. A NEET aspirant, Prateek, said most students had already completed their preparation and were concentrating on revision.
"We are studying for nearly 10 to 12 hours every day. Many students had prepared extensively earlier but could not properly attempt the examination. Now we have another chance and we are fully prepared," he said.
Coaching institutes in the city have also intensified academic schedules for aspirants. Special score-booster classes are being conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, followed by regular tests between 2 pm and 5 pm. In addition, expert faculty members are conducting paper-analysis sessions on YouTube from 5.30 pm....
